Krochet kids- A Sustainable Cycle of Giving Back

Three high school friends created Krochet Kids Intl., a non-profit organization. Three snow sports enthusiasts wanted to start their own headwear commerce. They started to crochet headwear and sold them to their friends at school.

In Backpack

They participated in internships in developing nations and took a lot from their experiences. This is how the idea of creating a non-profit was born.

Friends and family encouraged them to create empowerment in impoverished communities through employment.

Now, they have employees operating for Krochet Kids both in Uganda and Peru in a very sound business environment where they have equitable work ethics that gives the local staff work with fair wages, education and a bright future.

In Purse

As you can tell and see, I bought the Melbourne backpack/purse with the adjustable straps. This is made in Peru with a 100% acrylic knit, and vegan leather. It comes in three different styles: Leo pattern knit, caramel pattern knit and all vegan black leather. Mine is in caramel.

Coolest feature of the bag:  The name of the person who made the product is hand-signed on the tag inside. Beatris Tucto (hope I spelled her name correctly) made mine :)

If you go on their website www.krochetkids.org, you will find a sub-section about internship opportunities they created in Uganda, Peru and USA.  If you ever want to embark on an unforgettable journey, go check them out.

By purchasing from Krochet Kids, you’re supporting a sustainable cycle breaking poverty in developing countries. Krochet Kids want to expand their sound work in other developing countries as well.
